• I have been using it for a few weeks and it worked great and all of a sudden it stopped working, what happened?
  We recommend when you first receive the extender to charge the batteries 24-36 hours before using. If the transmitter suddenly stops working try replacing the battery with a fully charged battery.
  
• Does the battery charge light stop blinking once the battery is fully charged?
  No it does not. The light will continue to flash as long as the battery is in the charger. It takes 24-36 for it to fully charge.
  
• Will it damage the battery leaving it in the charger?
  No it will not. The battery will receive a slow trickle charge while in the charger.
  
• My range seems to be decreasing over time? The remote does not control my device consistently?
  The batteries may be low. Try charging the 2/3 AAA battery in the receiver/charging base. If that does not help you may need to change your alkaline batteries too. For the best performance, the RF transmitter sleeve should be placed so that the positive end is pointing towards the front of the remote.
  
• What is the 3 and 6 eye emitter for?
  You would need a multiple eye emitter if you are going to convert more than one remote and you would like to keep the cabinet or closet doors closed. It is one cord that branches out to three or six cords with an emitter at the end of it. One IR emitter would be placed in front of each device you wish to control with the NGHP RF transmitter.
  
• Will this work with a Media Center PC?
  Yes, it will.
  
• I cannot get the remote to control my device, what do I need to do?
  First, see if the remote will control the device if you point it directly at the device with the alkaline batteries in it. 
  If you cannot control your device with standard batteries:
  Your batteries may be low
  The batteries may be inserted incorrectly
  Or the remote may be in the wrong control mode
  If you can control your device directly with standard batteries but not once the transmitter is inserted:
  You may have the battery in the transmitter sleeve wrong
  You may have the transmitter in the remote wrong
  Make sure if using the eye emitter that the emitter is secured onto the IR sensor
  Check to see if the receiver is on the B setting (A for some cable boxes)
  Make sure the 2/3 AAA battery is fully charged
  If you have done all of the above and it still will not operate properly
  try holding the remote behind your back with the transmitter in it and see if the the B light illuminates when a button on the remote is pressed.
  If it does light up try moving the eye emitter until the device react.
  
• Does the RF transmitter kit work with Universal remotes?
  Yes, it does. It works with the Harmony Universal remotes up until the 880 series because it comes with its own rechargeable battery pack. It will work with cable or satellite remotes that can be Universal remotes.
  
• I am experiencing an interference problem with other existing IR/RF units. What do I do?
  The Remote extender is available in two Frequencies to avoid an interference problem.
  
• I cannot find the IR sensor on my device?
  If you cannot locate the IR sensor on the device, try shinning a flashlight at the front of your device to help locate the IR sensor. That will help you to see through the dark plastic lens.
  
• I need several more batteries and transmitters for other remotes, what do I need to order?
  You would need one transmitter per remote that you want to convert. Make sure to purchase the same frequency you already have.
  
• Is there another way to charge the batteries because the receiver is not accessible? What do you recommend or have?
  There is a stand alone USB charger. You simply place the battery in the charging sleeve, plug it into the USB port on your computer and in 2-3 hours the battery is charged.
  
• Can you charge the battery in the RF transmitter sleeve? Is that what the AAA size compartment in the bottom of the receiver is for?
  Yes, you can. The smaller slot is for the battery alone, the AAA size is for the battery and transmitter together. Do NOT place a standard AAA battery in the slot. It may damage the charger. Both compartments are for the rechargeable batteries only.
  
• What is the difference between the 433 and the 418 frequency?
  There is no difference other than the frequency itself. The reason for the two frequencies is to allow you to be able to have the RF extender on two of the exact same brand devices without having interference.  They both work great!! If you wish to control an XM radio then you will need the 418. If you wish to control a Harmony remote then you will need the 433.
  
• Does the RF Extender work with the Scientific Atlanta Cable box?
  Yes, it does. In order for the RF Extender to work with the SA cable box the receiver needs to be on the A setting. Most all other devices work off of the B setting. If you are trying to control the SA box and other devices, you would need to purchase an additional receiver. If you already have it on the A setting and it does not seem to be working properly, ask your cable company to force a system upgrade.
